Water Pylons (Phase I)
Water Pylons is a painted and lighted art enhancement for the New Jersey Avenue Southeast underpass. The project serves as a gateway to the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood, and features 18 freeway support columns painted various shades of blue, an abstract reference to the area's waterfront heritage. The project was funded in part by a $25,000 grant from the DC Commission on Arts and the Humanities.
