Head to the Capitol Riverfront on Saturday, April 8th for the 57th Annual Sakura Matsuri Japanese Street Festival, a main event of the National Cherry Blossom Festival. The festival will take place from 10:30 am to 6:00 pm at M Street, SE and New Jersey Avenue, SE. Produced by the Japan-America Society, Sakura Matsuri is the largest one-day celebration of Japanese culture in the United States. Performers and vendors travel from all over the country and the world to Washington, DC to share their love of Japanese culture and traditions with festival attendees through art, cuisine, and performances. Tickets can be bought in advance online and at the gate on the day of the event for $10 (children 12 and under always free). Ticket sales on the day of the festival are cash only. There will be special entrance lanes for pre-paid ticket holders, so festival-goers are encouraged to get your Sakura Matsuri tickets online before arriving at the event. Attendees are also encouraged to arrive by Metro, as parking will be limited.
